Aquaculture:

Shrimp is bred again in Mekong Delta.

Khanh Hoa province improves commercial production process and transfers technology to farmers breeding peanut worms.

15 provinces and cities applying V1 model in breeding common carp are supported.

Farmers are concerned about the output of notopterus chitala in Hau Giang province.

Tra fish price in market is unstable. This seriously affected farmers.

Farmer Association of Xuan Moc District visited a model breeding eel without mud in Nguyen Van Hoang’s farm in Trung Lap Thuong commune, Cu Chi district.

People buying insurance for shrimp farming are waiting for their compensation while authoritative agencies struggle with identifying the diseases and completing the procedures.

Processing, import and export:

Shrimp deaths, reduced investment, declined demand, and decreased shrimp price cause hardship for domestic export companies.

The turnover of exporting seafood in 2012 is predicted to be beyond 6.8 billion dollar.

Livestock:

Million households breeding poultry face difficulties and need help because of its decreased price and continuous diseases.

Prime Minister required Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to distribute 18,000 liter of Benkocid, a chemical disinfectant that belongs to national, to prevent PRRS in pigs.

Cultivation:

Mushroom is encouraged to develop as a major agricultural product.

In the first five months of 2012, Vietnam has exported 36 kinds of vegetable to the United States with the turnover of 1.1 million dollar.

Pepper brings high profit because of its stable price in the market.

Panax vietnamensis (Ngoc Linh ginseng) costs VND40-50 million/kg. That’s why Ngoc Linh Mountain between Quang Nam and Kon Tum provinces becomes “attractive.”

Agriculture, Countryside and Farmers:

In the Middle coast, people try to exploit Sargassum henslowianum that has just appeared recently here and brought high profit.

Damages caused by extended heat and sun can be compensated.

Fruit:

Growing coconut covered by nylon increases the output in Ninh Binh province.

Tieng Giang has the largest area of dragon fruit in Mekong Delta. It especially invests in intensive farming of this fruit in Cho Gao district and can decrease the poverty rate.

Global GAP and VietGAP green grapefruit brings the profit of VND500 million/ha in Mekong Delta.

While some agricultural products struggle with decreased price, excess supply, fruits like green grapefruit and green coconut are popular because of the needs for exportation.

Southern Horticultural Research Institute (SOFRI) creates 11 new trees with high quality.

Living and environment:

Primitive farming method of farmers in Tra Que vegetable village attracts visitors to Hoi An city, Quang Nam province.

Pet, flower and others:

Nam Cong, a small business in Ben Tre province, exported to Singapore a container of ornamental trees.
