Aquaculture:
10 shrimp community clubs were established in Tra Vinh province.
Sturgeon is being bred in lake A in Vinh Son hydropower (Vinh Thanh – Binh Dinh). This fish is expected to open a new business direction in this area.
Kon Plong (Kon Tum) is one of the areas that have suitable conditions to breed sturgeon.
Impurities injection in shrimp is increased.
Fishermen fishing offshore can be kept in touch by mobile wave.
Scirpus littoralis Schrab helps control water temperature, reduce pollutants from excessive shrimp feed, and increase oxygen concentration.
Enterprises with foreign direct investment (FDI) succeed in providing feed, breeding, and drugs for agriculture.
Cirrhinus from upstream is expected to bring a successful harvesting due to flood season.
Processing, import and export:
Japan continues to alert Vietnam with residues in shrimp.
Livestock:
Breeding musk cat brings high profit.
Breeding varan and gecko in Bao Lam district, Lam Dong province is successful.
Foreign enterprises succeed in livestock while domestic companies leave their farming. The reason is the less of capital of domestic companies.
Farmers breeding ducks with biosafety are guaranteed the consumption.
Cultivation:
Intercropping vegetable and robber trees is profitable since robber trees need 4 – 5 years to grow up.
A 500 ha field is being built in Vinh Long.
The applications of VietGap and GPPs are promoted in Lam Dong province.
Despite the warnings of authorities, farmers invest in planting pepper since its price is over VND118,000/kg.
“The large field” models in 13 provinces in Mekong Delta last summer were successfully applied.

From 9/2011, insurance for livestock is applied in Binh Dinh province.
Fruit:
This year, the investment to fruit farming increases from 20 to 40% compared with 2010. However, rambutan, durian price decreases in harvesting season.
Area of dragon fruit is expanded, but the excessive amount of this fruit causes difficulties to farmers.
