Aquaculture: Ca Mau province has enough conditions to develop breeding oyster in cage. However, this model is not developed in a large area. Damage of black tiger shrimp season in Tra Vinh this year partially decreases because the province actively prepared at the beginning of the season. Research Institute for Aquaculture III develops the project of breeding white leg shrimp under GAP. A new disease appears in hepatopancreas of shrimp in Ca Mau province. A criterion price for buying Tra fish raw material is proposed by Vietnam Fisheries Society (VINAFIS) and Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP). Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Decision No.1523/ QĐ-BNN-TCTS on the development plan for marine fishery by 2015 and orientation towards 2020. Inappropriate support policy and the increase of sea fishing cost are the reasons why farmers don’t interested in insurance. Breeding white leg shrimp in low sanity environment improves the yield. Breeding white leg shrimp in sand causes pollution. Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development proposes Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to consider taking white leg shrimp and Pacific oyster out of the list of endangered species. On 8/11/2011, Foundation supporting farmers in Quang Ngai province will be established.
Processing, import and export: The result of considering anti-dumping duty for the seventh time encourages and attracts Vietnamese companies to import Tra fish to the U.S. market.
Livestock: Chicken breed price significantly increases. Controlling tariffs can stabilize animal feed price and create a livestock chain in future Binh Minh LLC successfully built a farming system for backyard chickens. Bird flu appears in Nghe An and Quang Tri provinces. This information is an alert for Ha Tinh, located next to these provinces. Captive wildlife can transmit diseases to human. Animal feed price is still high while the cost of raw materials has decreased. Ostrich eggs are sold on the way to Ba Na resort (Da Nang province). Breeding swift at home is common due to the profit it brings.
Cultivation: Insufficient rainfall causes difficulties to rice cultivation in shrimp-breeding land in Phu Tan district (Ca Mau province). 40 thousand Ngoc Linh ginseng plants are supported to farmers in order to reduce poverty in Nam Tra My district, Quang Nam province. Aleurolobus barodensis Maskell in sugarcane is a new disease but can be prevented. Coffee exported from Vietnam has reached its highest price since the last 13 years: USD2,200 – 2,500/ton. Intercropping old and new trees is profitable since harvesting forest takes from 6 to 7 years. Using ecological technology to manage Nilaparvata lugens and virus improves ecological balance in rice paddy. Farmers are main actors implementing GAP. Nestlé Vietnam announced $270 million investment in Vietnamese coffee. Unstable weather, drought, and early rainy season with high humidity (80 – 85%) may cause disease in coffee trees in Dak Lak. Royal Ipomoea aquatica may lose its seed. Ha Noi Investment and Rural Development Company and Sen Chieu cooperative board are recovering this vegestable.
Agriculture, Countryside and Farmers: Research about producing the premium industrial salt from black salt opens a new stage for Vietnamese salt industry.
Dragon fruit price and its exportation decreases while area rapidly expands in Binh Thuan province. Chinese vendors buy litchi in Bac Giang with VND13,000 – 15,000/kg, and then sell it in China with VND300,000/kg. Passion fruit area is expanded in Gia Lai, Lam Dong, Dak Nong and Dong Nai due to the profit this fruit brings. The quality of Makapuno in Tra Vinh province decreases though its price is from VND170,000 to 200,000 / each.

Pet, flower and others: Ficus indica L. is “hot” in Khanh Hoa province. Lumnitzera rosea an endanger plan, is in Tam Giang Resort.
