Aquaculture:

Counterfeit medication for shrimp desease is widespread in Mekong Delta.

Tra fish farmers hardly have profit since Tra fish raw material is bought from 24,500 to 24,800 VND/kg while the costs are from 25,000 to 26,300 VND/kg.

“Do not hide shrimps’ diseases; do not pump untreated sewage and dead shrimps into water” is necessary to protect the environment that farmers must obligate.

Farmers face disadvantage when insurance companies meet difficulties because of financial crisis.

Dead shrimps in Bac Lieu province were poisoned in their ponds.

Processing, import and export:

Tra fish exports increase 40 times.

In the first six months of 2011, An Giang Fisheries Import Export Joint Stock Company (AGIFISH Co.) gained 47.5 million USD.

Livestock:

Breeding mountain goats open a new way for farmers in Thuy Ban, Trung Giang village, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province.

Chinese traders are looking for ducks’ eggs.

Cultivation:

Though coffee price has increased significantly in the previous decades, farmers still don’t have much profit.

Neem tree’s leaves are now exported.

In the world market, cocoa raw materials are scarce and expensive. This creates an opportunity for Vietnam.

Chinese people not only buy yam, but also hire land to plant yam before exporting to third countries in Vinh Long province.

Agriculture, Countryside and Farmers:

Ho Chi Minh City Farmers Support Center promotes agricultural technique by supporting farmers to study abroad.

Fruit:

Disease in longan develops quickly in Mekong Delta.

Quality of seeds is the most difficult thing that farmers planting strawberry face in Da Lat provice.

Living and environment:

Since inflation raises prices, some families plant vegetable near their house for daily needs.
