Aquaculture:

Fishing in Hoang Sa succeeds significantly.

Tra and Basa fish’s prices decrease in Mekong Delta.

Breeding with seaweed increases Bostrichthys sinenesis’s ability to survive during winter.

Chinese traders collected seafood in Vietfish fair, but preferred across-border trade than official trade.

Clam died because of Perkisus parasite in Bac Lieu province .

Acipenser breeding is developed in Vinh Son, Binh Dinh province.

23 international standards are applied to Tra fish since food safety is very necessary.

Processing, import and export:

VietGap standard will be used as a platform for companies and farmers participate in GlobalGap, ASC, SQF 1000.

Different criteria in various markets make companies and farmers breeding Tra fish bewildered.

The American Retail Industry Leaders Association has opposed the addition of Tra and Basa fish as catfishes need to be inspected.

Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) introduced a new online search tool to help consumers find companies having MSC certificates.

Livestock:

Pig’s price increases because traders from the north collected pigs to sell to China.

Bird’s nest has developed and brought profit to farmers since the last ten years.

According to The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, neglect, the lack of quarantine and vaccination cause foot and mouth disease (FMD).

Cultivation:

Insects destroying rice develop quickly. Locals are strengthening solutions to prevent insects.

Intercropping coffee and cashew brings high profit to farmers.

Almost famers who plant agarwood tree, are attracted by  agarwood . Their futures are unstable while being fascinated by its high profit.

The detriment after harvesting rice raises up to 635 million USD/year in Mekong Delta.

Agriculture, Countryside and Farmers:

The production of salt decreases 40%.

Fruit:

US, Japan, New Zealand agree to open their markets to fruits from Vietnam. This is a good opportunity for Vietnam.

400 to 500 tons of  lychee are exported in Lao Cai international border gate.

Orchards attract visitors to Phu Quoc.

Living and environment:

Diving to find sea cucumber at the bottom of oceans is lucrative, but divers always face fatal case.
