Aquaculture:
Shrimp-rice scheme comes to young generation in Ca Mau.
Tra fish’s raw material is over 28,000 VND/kg. Farmers get the highest profit: 40% compared to initial investment.
Red snapper fish price increases 5,000VND/kg compared with the beginning of 2011. Each cage can bring average profit 30 million VND.
Managing brackish water aquaculture based on community to 2015 in Quang Nam” plan contributed to build eco-breeding area brand and sustainable development.
If hydropower dams are built in Mekong River, freshwater fisheries, agricultural productivity, wetland-life and culture are threatened.
Tra fish farming must be applied “VietGap”. This standard is based on GlobalGap and certificated freely.
Snakehead fish breeding in small lined ponds brings high profit after four months (Thoai Son – An Giang).

Dry season appears in An Giang. Divers dry up. Fishing operations face difficulties. Crab and fish price rise highly.
Processing, import and export:
Seadfood export increases but didn’t bring profit because of high input cost. Export companies still expect to gain USD 5.3 billion in 2011.
On May 3rd 2011, Vinh Hoan Corp won the top price at “Seafood Prix d’Elite” in European Seafood Exposition.
Livestock:
Market needs a mass of boar and its breeds. Wild boar attracts famers in Lang Son.
After rising to VND 6.1 – 6.2 millions/100kg, pig meat price in Mekong Delta provinces has decreased. This is the good price for farmers to have profit.
Deer farming is most developed in Son Lam, Huong Son, Ha Tinh.
Some people begin to grow swift at their home in Sai Gon, while others intend to invest in Can Gio.
Besides pig farming, farmers begin to try wild boar breeding, which creates high profit in Tra On, Vinh Long province.
Cultivation:
Instead of using insecticide, beneficial natural enemies are applied in fresh vegetable model system.
Pepper export price is high, but the yield decreases 40% in the last crop. The reason is using unsuitable cultivation.
According to Tra Vinh Department of Agricultural and Rural Development, scientists, companies, authority and farmers signed “The Large Sample Field” in this summer-fall.
Aphids, nematodes and quick wilt, slow wilt disease damaged 900 ha of 7,000 ha pepper tree in Dong Nai at the beginning of rainy season.
Asexual Ngoc Linh ginseng having saponins is planted successfully by Professor Duong Tan Nhut in Ngoc Linh mount, Kon Tum.

Farmers is researching three-layer garden system. in Da Teh, Lam Dong province.
Silkworm cocoon is on high price, about VND 140,000/kg. Farmers begin to plant strawberry. Therefore, strawberry seedlings are needed.
Agriculture, Countryside, Farmers:
Farmers should produce as market’s needs to be active in output price.
Straw export brings high profit.
Farmers’ lives are improved because of applying Global GAP process in Mekong Delta. Global GAP is supported to expand.
From Jule 1st, agricultural insurance begins. Government intends to support for insurance companies in the first step.
Fruit:
MAP covers fruit to extend its freshness and expiration date.
Jackfruit, banana, papaya, etc. are not enough to be exported.
“Green” grapefruit price is four to five times higher than “Nam Roi” grapefruit. “Green” grapefruit is holding a stable market position.

Life and Environment:
Vegetables in suburban of Ha Noi are infected with coliform and poison. It is warned not to eat fresh vegetables without cooking.
